Maharashtra higher and technical education minister Uday Samant recently tweeted in his official Twitter account about the request letter to UGC to cancel the final year students exams which was supposed to conducted from July 1.

Uday Samant wrote the letter  on 17/5/2020 requesting University Grants Commission (UGC) to cancel the final year exams considering the current situation of COVID-19 Pendamic in Maharashtra state.

The letter contains the following,

UGC issued guidelines on 29th April, 2020 in view of COVID-19 Pendamic and subsequent lockdown , meanwhile government of Maharashtra appointed a State level committee to recommend state government regarding conduct of examination and the academic calendar based on UGC guidelines.

After considering the UGC guidelines and consulting various stackholders, the state level committee submitted it's recommendations to state government on 6th May, 2020.

The State government accepted the recommendations of the state level committee and as per recommendations of the committee in view of COVID-19 Pendamic and in order to maintain social distancing, safety and health of all students. State government took the decision to promote the students of diploma, undergraduate, post graduate, ( excluding medical, agriculture and animal husbandry universities) to next year except students of final year.

Till here we read that the final year students were not promoted 

EXAMS

But in the end of the letter Uday Samant requested University Grants Commission (UGC)  that in views of  COVID-19 Pendamic situation in Maharashtra and considering the feasibility conducting the exams of approximately 8 to 10 lakhs students from all across Maharashtra and India by maintaining all safety protocols seems very challenging and may endanger the safety and health of the students. Hence I am of the opinion that the terminal (final) examinations should not be conducted this year.

Request to please kindly issue guidelines in this regard from betterment of students. -uday samant

So it will be a good news for final year students if no exams will be conducted this year .

 But... But the letter is request to UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION(UGC) as they can take any decisions. 

So I will probably recommend you to keep studying and don't stop till you got confirmation of exam cancellation.
