Chetan bhagat's 2nd best selling novel one night @ call center was published in 2005. The novel is based on six call center employee working at the connexions which is a call center in gurgaon haryana, India. The story begins during the journey, the narrating author meets a beautiful girl in train journey from Kanpur to
Delhi. After little conversation the girl decides to tell the author a story on one condition. The condition was that he has to publish it as his second book. after 1 hour the author agrees on the condition and started listen the story.
The story was Told through the eyes of the protagonist, Shyam, one of the leading character of the book. This story is based on an insight on the lifestyle of youth of this country , lost love, absence of family affection, pressure for life set up and working environment of the Indian call center.
The characters are Shyam, prinyanka, Vroom, Esha, Radhhika and military uncle. Shyam and Priyanka just had breakup Vroom and Esha has anoter chemistry and Militay uncle has family issue. As every one of them was facing some kind of problem.
One day after cheated by their boss Bakshi they decides to take a break and go to a club for refreshment. While returning from the club the face a life threatening when their Qualis crashes into a construction site hanging over a mesh of iron construction rods.
They tried every possible way to get out from their but not succeeded. They tried to call for help but the place has no network. Suddenly Shyam's phone start ringing and the call was from god. God not only helped them on how to get their vehicle out the construction site but also to get their life on track and suggested all of them the new life.
After the conversation with god they were confident and motivated towards their life and they have understood the way to teach their boss a lesson.
